Stride is a running app designed to promote safe and sensible training. As a high-impact sport, running often leads to frequent and sometimes debilitating injuries throughout an athlete’s career. Stride aims to address this by leveraging data visualization to help runners make informed decisions about their training.

Unlike other apps that focus primarily on building a social community for runners, Stride begins with a comprehensive onboarding process that delves into each athlete’s past training history to understand their limits and capabilities. By gaining this insight, the app can send timely notifications when training intensity spikes, helping to prevent overtraining. Additionally, users are encouraged to log injuries within their training plans. This feature enables Stride to predict appropriate recovery periods while keeping athletes engaged with exercises and stretches they can safely perform to stay active during recovery.

Uncovering the Market

Analyzing the current market for running apps revealed that health and injury prevention are not priorities in most existing apps.

Smart Mileage Alerts

Users are notified during workouts when they’ve exceeded their normal mileage and may be at risk of overtraining. The feature encourages safer training habits by prompting them to start a cooldown or continue at their discretion
